Discuss how the clinic responded to the need to evaluate patients in non-presential environments. As well as to identify the main limitations of these strategies and the available success stories.

The use of information and communication technologies for patient care, specifically telemedicine, is not an unknown strategy. In fact, we can consider it as one of the greatest innovations from the technological, cultural, and social point of view in our time.

However, its accelerated implementation due to COVID-19, forced, in many cases, to use it with more limitations than expected. Even so, it is a form of care that will surely continue to expand after the crisis.

We can find telemedicine activities in all stages of the care process, beyond the physician-patient interaction, also in the physician-physician and physician-other health professionals relationship, as well as between patients, which leads to an environment of universal ethical and legal responsibility specific to all of us.

Sharing experiences in the implementation of telemedicine and how is the region regarding its use, are some aspects that we will discuss together with Carlo Vinicio Caballero, editor-in-chief of Global Rheumatology and our guests.

Today we are joined by Santiago Troncar, CEO and founder of Future Docs, a company with about 10 years of experience in developing and implementing digital health solutions for physicians and patients and Dina Arrieta, a Costa Rican rheumatologist associated to the Rheumatology services of Hospital Mexico and Hospital Clínica Bíblica, in San José, and a pioneer in the use of telemedicine in her country. Together with our host, Dr. Diego Jaimes, and our editor will analyze all the advantages and disadvantages of these tools and procedures.
